This is a dense evergreen with veined, glossy, leathery leaves. This will produce fruit in approximately 5 years, flowering from February to May. The fruit won't begin to ripen until after you harvest it from the tree beginning in early fall, when the skin will turn from a green to a dark purple-black color.
